Accessibility Statement

GVINAGE sees this website as part of the service it provides, so it was built to be usable by people browsing with a screen reader, with a keyboard only, or with visual, hearing or motor difficulties.

We have worked to make the site accessible in accordance with the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 5773-2013, and Israeli Standard IS 5568 at conformance level AA, based on the WCAG 2.0 guidelines.

The accessibility menu

At the bottom corner of every page there is an accessibility button. Clicking it opens a menu that lets every visitor adjust the display to suit them. You can also open and close it from the keyboard with Alt + A, and close it with the Esc key.

  • Text size — three levels of enlargement beyond normal.
  • Contrast — high contrast, inverted colours or greyscale.
  • Highlight links — a permanent underline under every link.
  • Larger line spacing — double spacing between lines.
  • Readable font — switches to a simple, clear font.
  • Stop animations — stops motion and transitions on the site.
  • Large cursor.
  • Reset — returns to the default display.

This menu is a personal adjustment tool only. It does not “fix” the site automatically, and you do not need it to browse: the site itself was built to meet the standard without it. The preferences you choose are stored in your own browser only; they are not sent to us and we do not use them for any purpose.

What we have done on the site

  • Full keyboard navigation, including a clear focus indicator and a “Skip to content” link at the top of every page.
  • A correct, hierarchical heading structure and marked page regions (header, main content, navigation, footer), so screen readers can jump between them.
  • Alternative text for every image that carries information. Purely decorative images are deliberately hidden from screen readers to avoid clutter.
  • Colour contrast of at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text, on every page of the site.
  • The document language and text direction are declared at page level, so screen readers pronounce the content correctly.
  • Forms with linked labels, marked required fields and clear error messages.
  • The site is adapted for phones, tablets and computers, and supports browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content.
  • The site has been tested with the NVDA and VoiceOver screen readers.

Known accessibility limitations

We prefer to say this explicitly rather than avoid it:

  • The cart and checkout pages are based on components of the shop system (WooCommerce) and an external payment provider. We do not fully control their code. If you run into difficulty there — that is exactly the kind of report we want to receive, and we will take it up with the providers.
  • Links to external sites (social networks, map navigation) lead to sites we are not responsible for, and their accessibility is beyond our control.

We check these points with the providers, and deal with every specific report as soon as we receive it.

Contacting us about accessibility

Found a problem, a component that doesn’t work, or content you couldn’t read? We want to know. We commit to checking every report and getting back to you.

Accessibility of the Visitor Center and the farm

All farm facilities are accessible — the Visitor Center, the workshop room and the restrooms.

We recommend arranging your visit in advance. Advance notice lets us open the accessible parking and prepare the route from it to the Visitor Center. You can email us or use the contact form, and we’ll make sure your visit is comfortable.
